This public non-governmental body employs scientists aiming to improve current agricultural practices and searching for new production alternatives.
  Link   Centre de cooperation internationale en recherche agronomique pour le developpement (CIRAD)
France-based international agricultural research centre working for the economic development of the tropical and subtropical regions. CIRAD has a banana breeding programme in its Guadeloupe station.
