Catalogue of introduced and local banana cultivars in the Philippines: Results of a demonstration trial by the Institute of Plant Breeding, University of the Philippines, Los Baños. (9.1Mo)
F.S. Dela Cruz, L.S. Gueco, O.P. Damasco, V.C. Huelgas, I.G. Banasihan, R.V. Lladones, I. Van den Bergh and A.B. Molina. 2007. IPB-UPLB, Bioversity - Philippines, and DA-BAR. Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. 59 pp.
This catalogue provides information on the morphological and yield characteristics of 19 introduced and 8 local banana cultivars grown at the IPB-UPLB demonstration plot. It is intended to serve as a guide to help in identifying and selecting cultivars for further evaluation by researchers and planting by interested growers.

Musalogues

The objective of the 'Musalogue' series is to publish and disseminate information on banana varieties in order to facilitate and encourage the utilization of germplasm held in collections. Musalogue is printed as a collection of cards gathered in a binder. This format offers flexibility in sorting the cards. Each card contains information on one variety and a colour picture, when available.

Musalogue Diversity in the genus Musa
Diversity in the genus Musa (16 Mo)
J. Daniells, C. Jenny, D. Karamura and K. Tomekpe
Compiled and edited by E. Arnaud and S. Sharrock

This publication provides descriptions and photographs of species and varieties covering most of the diversity in the genus Musa. Each entry in the catalogue is represented by a photograph and a morpho-taxonomic description of the plant in the field. The publication is based on information provided by germplasm curators from Guadeloupe, Cameroon, Australia and Uganda and available in the Musa Germplasm Information System (MGIS) The catalogue is divided into two parts: the first part focuses on wild species (4.2 Mo) and the second part on cultivated varieties (11.2 Mo).
Musalogue Papua New Guinea Papua New Guinea collecting missions, 1988-1989 (16.3 Mo)
Collecting missions 1988-1989. Edited by E. Arnaud and J.P. Horry
This Musalogue provides information on the evalutation of germplasm collected in Papua New Guinea in 1988 and 1989. Observations recorded at the collecting sites are also included. Although a number of accessions have been classified using molecular markers, the classifications are generally based on morphological characteristics and in all cases, should be considered tentative.

Catalogue of wild and ccultivated bananas A catalogue of wild and cultivated bananas. A tribute to the work of Paul Allen (14.8 Mo)
Compiled and edited by F. Rosales, E. Arnaud and J. Coto
This publication provides information on the work carried out by Paul Allen during the 1950s and 1960s to build and characterize the Musa collection of the United Fruit Co. The book contains data on 337 accessions of banana collected during missions in Southeast Asia and New Guinea. Information on each accession is provided in a Musalogue-type format, with one accession being described per page. The majority of these data were entered in MGIS.
