16 May 2007 Beloved Mensah Dzomeku of the Crops Research Institute in Ghana received a fellowship to study the impact of projects led by Bioversity and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). The professional development grant from the International Fund for Agricultural Research (IFAR) will enable the young scientist to evaluate to what extent the technologies introduced as part of projects funded by USAID the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, mainly disease-resistant banana hybrids, have been adopted by farmers in Ghana.
